Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is a country off the southern coast of the Indian subcontinent. Sri Lanka is an island surrounded by the Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait, and lies in the vicinity of India and the Maldives. It is part of South Asia. The natural beauty of Sri Lanka has led to the title The Pearl of the Indian Ocean. The island is laden with lush tropical forests, white beaches and diverse landscapes with rich biodiversity.
The coastal stretch south of Colombo offers palm-lined sandy expanses as far as the eye can see. From the sacred and majestic mountain of Sri Pada, down awesome and powerful waterfalls, through the lush and serene Sinharaja tropical rainforest, past a green sea of paddy fields into a jungle of fish and coral, Srilanka has nature at its most wondrous. The calm and clear water of Tangalla bay is a swimmers paradise in Srilanka. Frangipani or Pansal Mal (temple flowers) trees can be seen just about anywhere in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka we have a special branch of poetry, "pal kavi" (poems of a cottage). There is an Island called Rathnapura is also called a ‘City of gems Sparkle’. And there are different beaches the main beaches are Palm-fringed beach & Nilaveli Beach.
Day 01: Airport - Colombo (40 Kms/1hr)
Your tour packages to Srilanka stars right from your arrival at the airport. Our representative at the airport will meet you and assist you to transfer you to Colombo. Colombo is the capital city of Srilanka also known as the financial capital and has endless tourist’s attractions. Relax for sometime and later you take you for a city tour where you will visit historical colonial building, old heritage world beauty, Pettah Bazaar where you can enjoy shopping, visit to Hindu and Buddhist temple, residential areas where you will find the stately rich homes and Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, a gift form People’s Republic of China. Colombo is also famous for its bustling markets and modern building which is slowly changing the face of this capital city of Srilanka. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Srilanka.
Day 02: Colombo – Kitulgala - Nuwara Eliya (189 Kms/6 Hrs)
Enjoy leisure breakfast at the hotel in Colombo and later we drive to Kitulgala from Colombo. The picturesque river Kelani River flowing through Kitulgala is the major attractions as well as it was the spot where the famous Oscar Winning Movie Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. Above the town there very recently a pre-historic cave was discovered where various artifacts and large maddens of shells are discovered belonging to an un-identified civilization. After spending some memorable time, transfer from Kitulgala to Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is a scenic hill resort in Srilanka, blessed with sprawling tea gardens, gorgeous hill and stimulating mountains. Nuwara Eliya produces the world best tea leaves and so it is considered to be the heart of Srilanka. Also the highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) and the 18 holes golf course considered to be the finest in Asia is located here. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 03: Nuwara Eliya -Tea Plantation - Kandy (77 Kms/3 Hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel in Nuawara Eliya today we will visit Tea Plantation and Kandy. We drive via Tea Plantation to Kandy considered to be the culture capital of Srilanka. Visit tea plantation and the tea factory and see how the world’s best tea leaves are processed, packed and are made ready for the international markets. Enjoy stimulating hot tea prepared from the best Ceylon tea in the factory. After the memorable tour of the well organised tea gardens, we drive to Kandy also called the cultural capital of India were still legends, traditions and folklore are kept alive and festivals are celebrated with great joy and happiness. Visit to the Kandy Lake, constructed by the last Sinhala King, Sri Wickrama Raiassinghe in 1798. Later visit the bustling Kandy town and bazaars, arts and crafts centre, gem museum and lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of Tooth Relic and witness the culture show. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Kandy.
Day 04: Kandy – Pinnawala - Colombo (115 Kms/3 Hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel we transfer to Colombo via Pinnawala. Pinnawala is the major tourist attraction established in the year 1975. Visit herds of elephants inside the park that are well kept and properly taken care off. Today Pinnawala is the major tourism attraction of Srilanka and a scientific captive breeding programme for elephants was started by the help of the locals and foreign experts which prove out to be very successful. After spending some time of immense fun with the jumbos of the jungle, we drive to Colombo. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Colombo.
Day 05: Colombo - Airport (40 Kms/1hr)
After the breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, we transfer you to the airport on time for onwards journey or way back home. In this way your memorable tour of Srilanka ends giving your wonderful opportunity to learn and know about this wonderful country island of Srilanka.
