1. Chikmagalur
Chikmagalur is situated in south western part of Karnataka. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens. It is about 340km from Bangalore and is a 7 hours drive.
6. Kotagiri
Kotagiri is situated at an elevation of around 1793 m above sea level and is one of the three popular hill stations located in the Nilgiris. This picturesque hill station is bounded by verdant green tea estates and offers a number of trekking options.This old hill station has been developed around innumerable knolls and valleys. It is about 45 minutes drive from Ooty.
7. Coonoor
Coonoor is located at the head of the Hulikal ravine at an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level. It is 19 km from Ooty another famous hill station of the Nilgiris. Coonoor is famous for its verdant environs and for a variety of wildflowers and birds. Coonoor provides a perfect setting for activities like trekking and hiking. Halfway down the Mysore-Ooty highway, lies one of India's best-known wildlife reserves - Bandipur National Park. It is situated within Chamarajanagar district in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, and abuts the states of Tamil Nadu & Kerala. It is just 220km from Bangalore .
12. Nagarahole
Nagarhole National Park, also known as 'Rajiv Gandhi National Park,' is located 94 km from Mysore. It is spread between Kodagu and Mysore districts. Located to the northwest of Bandipur National Park, Kabini reservoir separates the two. It is about 250km from Bangalore.
13. B.R.Hills
Biligiri Rangana Betta is a lofty hillock situated at a distance of 86 kms from Mysore. The forest around is named Biligiri Rangaswamy Wildlife Sanctuary after this place.
